Rebecca Ramshaw – Assistant Gallery Director, Conservation Custom Framing Expert – Artworld Fine Art Gallery
Originally from the Waterloo Region Rebecca grew up with the arts, attending the symphony, ballet, art auctions, musicals, plays, museums and libraries with her parents. This instilled in her a great love for all the arts. She also studied piano, flute, voice, ballet & modern dance when she was young, and ballroom dance as an adult. Studying visual art through high school she discovered photography and has pursued that passionately ever since, being an avid amateur and assisting a professional photographer on a casual basis.
Rebecca graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design for the Theatre. She started framing in 1999, at a small custom framing shop and quickly found that the work was a natural fit for her. Framing combines creativity and technical skills and offers great variety. She took a brief hiatus from framing and worked for an interior designer, which was challenging and fulfilling but a move to Toronto brought her to ARTWORLD in 2011 she has felt fortunate to be working with the amazing art and great people here ever since. She is very excited to be part of this new stage in ARTWORLD`s growth and look forward to the challenge of developing our new venue rental. See: Artworld Fine Art Gallery
Sandra Robson – Artist
Sandra was born in Toronto, but grew up on a farm. There were no crayons, pencils or paper; but it didn’t suppress a natural tendency to draw. She used sticks, rocks, sand and even snow. It didn’t matter if it washed away – because tomorrow was the opportunity to start fresh.
While attending the University of Toronto, she was asked to illustrate for a talented Paleontologist during the summer months. She earned her bachelor of science; however grew to understand that her true passion was in the arts. The Sheridan College Illustration program fueled her passion to create and gave her the tools to establish herself in a career of graphic design – fine tuning the elements and principles of design.
Years of graphic design, art direction and creating illustrations; brought her full circle back to her painting roots. Tapping into intuition; Sandra utilizes experience to guide her through her paintings. Inspired by people, laughter, nature and music – she loves every day and the possibilities it brings.
