MELISSA WAKEFIELD
Melissa Wakefield has never remembered a time when drawing or painting has not been an important part of her life. She has been pursuing her career as an artist since receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University in 2000. Primarily in oils, Wakefield explores the interaction within the subject matter using colour and negative space.

Biography
Melissa was born in 1977, in Leamington, Ontario. In 2000 she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in painting and drawing, from York University. Wakefield works predominantly in oil painting, but like any artist, is interested in anything creative. She is especially interested in space, colour and texture and how they work together. You can see this in her work by way of her composition, choice of subject matter and background colour.
Wakefield is currently living in Barrie On. She has exhibited in solo and group shows in and around the Barrie and Toronto area.
