Michelle Jursa Finger Paintings

Michelle is a Mississauga-based fine art finger painter. Having started with brushes, she noticed that more than 50% of the paint application was with her fingers. This felt so natural, so she decided to focus solely on finger painting using rich, brightly coloured oil paints…and gloves, of course!

Each painting is detailed stroke by stroke using simply her fingers. “I feel as though I am right there in the scene when I paint with my fingers…it’s like a combination of sculpting and painting.”

Having taken several workshops with favourite artists, Michelle is primarily a self-taught painter. Inspiration comes from just about anywhere – country roads, shadows in the snow, city streets, other artists’ work….life in general!
